The Stress Management Society defines stress as:
What happens when the demands made on a person exceed that person's ability to cope.
While it is not possible to live without any stress, we can learn ways to handle the stress of daily life efficiently, and to manage our reactions to stress and minimize its negative impact.
The First Signs of Stress
Fatigue • Aches and pains • Anxiety • Problems sleeping
Lack of enjoyment of life • Depression
Long Term Signs of Stress
Heart Disease • Cancer • Diabetes • Depression
Obesity • Ulcers • IBS
Stress Relief Through Hypnosis
Hypnosis will lead you into a state of extreme relaxation which allows your body to heal and recover from the stress it has been experiencing.
While in hypnosis it is possible to experience previously stressful situations and learn new reactions and associations while remaining calm and relaxed. These positive associations will allow you to react in different, less stressful ways, in real life.
During Hypnosis you are able to learn new coping mechanisms to allow you to deal with situations more effectively in the future. Techniques such as positive thinking, assertiveness, and deep breathing will help you deal more effectively with previously stressful situations.
Daily Self-hypnosis is a very effective way of reducing your daily background stress levels, and allowing you time to reflect on events, allowing your mind and body time to rest.
Other Ways to Reduce Your Stress
Get Physical do some exercise, such as a 15 minute walk.
Avoid nicotine, alcohol and caffeine.
Relax daily using stress reduction techniques such as hypnosis, meditation and yoga.
Sleep, have regular hours that allow your body the correct amount of sleep.
Learn to understand that you must sometimes accept what you are not able to change.
Learn to say No.
Manage your time, decide what is essential, and what is not essential to complete.
