January 2007: Panic Attacks
A surprisingly large number of people, both male and female, regularly experience Panic Attacks. These can range from mild anxiety attacks to intense and extremely distressing Panic Attacks.
Most people suffering from these attacks will try and continue on with their lives, but, find that when Panic Attacks occur again and again over a long period of time, even years in some cases, their life can become greatly limited.
In these cases sufferers of Panic Attacks may begin to avoid situations and events where they feel they might have a Panic Attack.
What is a Panic Attack?
- Episodes of overwhelming fear or anxiety
- Occurs suddenly, sometimes without any reason
- Can last from a few minutes to several hours, and can be terrifying
Hypnotherapy can help
Whether you are suffering from extreme anxiety attacks without obvious cause, or mild Panic Attacks in specific situations; hypnotherapy can help.
Suffers from Panic Attacks usually notice rapid improvement after only a couple of sessions, and, in some cases the Panic Attacks stop, for good.
My clients regain their lives. Their world opens up, as they are able to travel, go shopping, and go out with friends without the fear of a Panic Attack.
Symptoms of a Panic Attack
- Rapid breathing, difficulty in breathing
- Palpitations, rapid heart rate
- Chest discomfort or pain
- Sweaty hands
- Nausea or stomach pains
- Numbness or tingling sensations in hands and feet
- Trembling or shaking
- A fear that the you are dying, having a heart attack or stroke
N.B. These are the most common symptoms of a Panic Attack, not all of these symptoms are experienced each and every time.
Hypnotherapy helps to :

- Build confidence and motivation
- Alleviate anxiety
As a Hypnotherapist my aim is to reassure my clients, to teach them self-hypnosis and relaxation. And by working together, overcome the symptoms of their panic attacks, increase confidence and overcome the causes of the attacks.
Important note: If you are suffering from Panic Attacks it is important to first contact your Doctor, as it may be a symptom of an underlying medical issue.
