The response becomes a habit and sits in the subconscious mind, making it difficult to change or overcome on a conscious level.
No matter how much you tell yourself consciously that you are not afraid of something, you find you are not able to control your emotional reaction to it.
Hypnotherapy works with the subconscious mind and is able to break the link between the stimulus, e.g. spider, dogs, buttons, and the response, fear and anxiety.
As a therapist I incorporate both Hypnotherapy and NLP techniques into the session giving you all the tools you will need to overcome your fear. Most simple phobias can be treated in one or two sessions.
